Generally, you must be employed regularly for a minimum of 20 hours per week or 5 months a year, and you must have completed one year of service in order to enter the Retirement Plan. Continuous service is defined as your latest period of uninterrupted employment with the Employer. Service is not considered to be interrupted by sick leave, military service, or temporary layoffs. Some Employers may have slightly different eligibility requirements. Check with your Employer or CCOERA to determine your specific Employer's eligibility requirements.
You enroll in the Retirement Plan by completing and signing the CCOERA Enrollment Form 1 furnished by your Employer. You will also designate a beneficiary when you complete the enrollment form.
